Mr. Burdette is an active Realtor®, principally in Berkeley County, West Virginia. A licensed real estate broker and member of the Eastern Panhandle Board of Realtors, Mr. Burdette has served 20 years on the board of directors of the Eastern Pandhandle Home Builders Association and a past president of that board.

Mr. Burdette was named builder of the year by the homebuilders, he is a life director for the association and a Life Spike member, and a former member of the state board of directors. He is a Rotarian for more than 37 years, he has been formerly active with the Martinsburg Rotary International Foreign Exchange Program. Three times elected chairman of the finance committee of First Baptist Church, as well as being elected deacon 3 times, and serves as fiscal officer for the church's New Ridge Road Campus.
